0. Preface
Since I got my Kindle Paperwhite 3 (7th gen), I’ve ran on jailbroken firmware all the time, just to find out that I don’t really use KOReader much and just prefer the simplicity of stock Amazon firmware.
In this guide I’ll show how to remove the jailbreak on my Kindle, running on 5.15.2.1.1 (Winterbreak)

1. Removing the Jailbreak
First up, I’m going to do a clean install on my Kindle by going to
Settings -> 3 dots -> Reset
And say yes, everything will be wiped.

Give it a few moment to completely reset.
1.1: Downloading stock firmware
Now you want to refer to Amazon’s page for links to download the firmware
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GKMQC26VQQMM8XSW
In my case I have the Paperwhite (7th gen), choose that from the list and you should have a file starts with update_*

1.2: Update the Kindle to remove the hotfix
Now after your Kindle has completely reset, set it up as usual
Plug the Kindle to the computer, and copy the
updatefile to the root directory

Eject the kindle
Go to
Settings -> 3 dots -> Update your kindle
Give it a few moments and we’re done, the jailbreak is fully removed.
